Valentín, the valley of clay
Water, air, earth, fire and artisan hands are the elements necessary for the production of bricks, tiles and roof tiles that has been carried out in Valentín for centuries. The result of the artisan work is the uniqueness and exclusivity of each piece, made with clays from each tile factory and fired using dry residual biomass fuel from the area’s agriculture. Valentín ceramics is legacy, tradition, sustainability, durability and exclusivity.

Markets
El Mesoncico Craft Market
The ‘El Mesoncico’ craft market is held in the Plaza del Castillo, in the heart of the historic center of the town.
The number of markets held in this new stage is reduced to four: Autumn Flavours in November; Christmas Tales in December; Carnival in February and Spring Roundtables in March.
A very complete program that combines tradition, culture, the best gastronomy and, of course, local and regional crafts, all in the incomparable setting of our historic center of Cehegín. More than fifty artisans from the area come together to offer their products, sausages, ceramics, sweets, soaps, wines, cheeses, etc., and each month you can get to know different traditions of the region.
The traditional cuisine of the area and the richness of the local gastronomy play a leading role in each of the markets, where you can taste a variety of typical dishes and products.
A children’s area, with performances, gifts and games, as well as various craft workshops for the little ones, attractions that recall the most ancient elements of children’s fun, together with demonstrations and craft workshops, consolidate a guaranteed fun for the whole family as a complementary activity.
On the other hand, there is also a tourist information point at this flea market. Come and enjoy an outdoor activity for the whole family in Cehegín.
Those interested in participating with a stall to sell their products can register at the Cehegín Tourist Office (Tel. 968 72 35 50).
The market has a free transport service ¨ the Mesoncico tourist train¨, from the Plaza del Alpargatero, to the Plaza del Mesoncico, to make the visit much more comfortable and without parking problems. The timetable of this transport is from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm.
